Insider tips about tires
Doral tires is a website about tires and everything related to the world of tires. As you start exploring this site you’ll come to know what gemstone you found.
Here are some insider tips about the tires. I’ll try my best to give you at most knowledge in minimum writing and time as everyone’s time is precious.
First of all a ‘Tire’ itself gives a lot of information which need to be studied before buying or before applying. Almost all the tires have side wall instruction which need to be studied.
Let me give an example of a tire’s side wall instructions. The following are the things written on the tires.
- You will see the brand of the tire.
- You will see if it’s tubeless or not. Most probably tubeless it will.
- A very important thing to note is an arrow which shows that this tire is unidirectional and the header of the arrow should be pointing towards the front side of the car. This need to be noted very carefully if a unidirectional tire is engaged in opposite direction it is more open to wear and other bad consequences.
- Tire also indicates how wide that tire is; the wider a tire is the more road grip you’ll have.
- Profile of the tire is also given which shows: how tall is the tire width etc.
- Another important thing indicated in the tire is the speed rating of the tire (I’ll explain this below).
- It also indicates tire’s radial.
Explanation:
Coming to tire rating:
You’ll see something like “130 C A”
In this 130 means tread wear.
- C means traction.
- A means temperature.
- Tread wear rating:
A standard rating is 100 so anything above hundred will show a positive sign towards the tire health and durability.
Traction:
It is the braking traction test and grades highest at A and lowest at C. this means it’ll explain a lot of things like how tires will stop on wet and how the braking system will become after that.
Temperature:
Temperature has 4 grades
AA highest to C lowest.
This represents how the tires can handle the temperature increase. A and B are good performing tires and could be used with ease. C is the minimum requirement that a tire must have without which it is not legally accepted.
Speed rating:
There is something else if you buy performance tires where you will see some alphabets which represent speed rating. It is the maximum limit of speed a tire can sustain to a specific period.
For example: Q represents 99 MPH
And Z represents 149 MPH and above.
Some great safety tips:
New tires:
Whenever you buy new tires try to imply them to the front. As front tires are more open to wear so it’s a good idea to imply new tires at front.
One tire purchase:
It should be a very wise decision on how to purchase a single tire. I’ll recommend keeping the same company and same brand because different companies make different types of tires even in the same diameter they use different material and other things so try to purchase a couple of tires if you can.
Speedometer:
If changing tires to bigger diameter, ensure that you speedometer is working correct as it can mislead you afterwards.
